Tianjin Port, located in the new Binhai district of Tianjin City, China, is at the west end of Bohai Bay, backed by the Xiongan new area, radiating the inland hinterland of northeast, north and northwest China, connecting Northeast Asia with central and West Asia, and is the maritime gateway to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, it is the eastern starting point of the china-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor, an important node of the New Eurasian Land Bridge, and a strategic fulcrum of the sea route of Silk Road.

In the 10th Year of the Xianfeng Reign of the Qing Dynasty (1860), Port of Tianjin opened to the outside world and became a trading port. On October 17, 1952, Port of Tianjin reopened its port. As of 2019, Tianjin Port has a total length of 32.7 km, a water area of 336 KM2 and a land area of 131 KM2. Port of Tianjin consists of five port areas, namely, north port area, south port area, east port area, the south port area of Lingang Economic Zone and east port area of Southport port area. In 2018, Port of Tianjin handled 446.04 million tons of goods and 258.64 million tons of foreign trade goods.
