Frequently asked questions
Sizing, materials, sampling and lead times for this item — answered from what we actually quote.
What are the dimensions of this item?
This reference measures L62 x W8.3 x H15 cm at 1:420 scale. Each unit is built to order, so if your display space calls for a different size, send us the target and we will confirm what this hull can be built to before quoting.
Which material is used?
Hand-built resin. Material is chosen for dimensional stability, colour accuracy and a finish that holds up to handling, packing and long-distance freight.
Can we customise colours, logo and vessel details?
Yes. Livery, logo, colour and vessel details are applied at production. Send vector artwork (AI, EPS or PDF), your PANTONE and RAL references, brand guidelines and fonts — we check hull lines, container colours and the spelling of the vessel name against your artwork before production.
How many pieces do we need to order?
One piece can be ordered, but a single model carries the full cost of drawing and hand assembly. For anything around 40 cm and up we usually suggest 4–5 pieces, because that quantity can travel as one carton inside a wooden crate — harder to drop, easier to handle. 8–10 pieces is the common programme size.
What is the lead time?
30 working days after the pre-production sample is approved. Larger volumes add 10–15 days. If the item has to be developed with new tooling, allow 3–4 months — occasionally 5–6 months.
Can we see a sample before production?
Yes — a sample is the normal first step. Samples are charged. Ordinary items take 1–2 weeks (some 15–20 days), alloy models and handmade ship models about one month. Depending on the order volume, the sample fee is credited against the order in part or in full.
How do you pack and ship it?
Wooden crate with foam blocking for larger pieces; export carton for smaller ones. Shipping is quoted on EXW, FOB, CIF, DDP or DDU terms, by courier, air or sea — usually a combination, depending on quantity and destination.
