Adora Magic City: 3 months from design to delivery
China's first large domestic cruise ship needed launch merchandise in 3 months. We designed, tooled and delivered the model programme in time for the launch.
Adora Magic City, China's first large domestically built cruise ship, had a launch date set by the shipyard — not by us. The model merchandise programme started at the end of July and had to be in hand for the November celebrations.
Design, tooling, sampling and mass production normally take longer. Compressing it to three months meant running tooling and sample approval in parallel and holding colour approval sessions on site. The programme was delivered on time, and smaller miniatures of the same vessel are now sold in the ship's onboard gift shop — retail-grade quality, at 6cm and 9cm.
